Sip  for  Change  is  a  conceptual  campaign  aiming  to  generate  awareness  about  the  challenges  faced  by  Indian  tea  farmers  and  to  encourage  consumers  to  support  them  by  purchasing  ethically  sourced  Indian  tea.

Tea estates in India have been struggling to provide their workers with proper living and working conditions. Sip for Change aims to impove these conditions for workers in hopes to make estates more ethical and help the lives of those who live there.

The Ethical Tea Partnership, a global organization empowering communities within tea regions supported by tea brands and other organizations, provides a diverse amount of programs aiming to build workers’ economic resilience, support women and young people, teach health education, and find ways to further the push for long-term systemic change.

The Tea Spot is a popular woman-owned tea brand who was one of the first companies to be B Corp certified and was recently featured in Forbes as a “force for good” for their commitment to sustainability and incorporation of wellness programs.

The collaboration between The Tea Spot and the Ethical Tea Partnership will be able to combine their past and current efforts to empower communities and drive change through their equal passion for tea and its’ consumer’s ability to sip for change.

  Each  purchase  of  Sip  for  Change  tea  gives  back  to  the  tea  estates  by  funding programs through  the  ethical  tea  partnership  that provide   support  to  indian  tea  farmers.  Consumers  can  purchase  single  boxes  by  type  which  each  raise  awareness  to  a  unique  issue.

Every package and sachet provides a scannable QR code that allows users to hear a voice note from a farmer currently working in Assam, India. Consumers will hear personal stories of living conditions on Assamese tea estates relating to the specific mission of the tea they are drinking. The voice notes will periodically update with new stories of how Sip for Change is continuing to help improve the lives of the tea farmers allowing consumers to continue to interact with the product and track the impact of their contribution in real time.

Sip for Change will leverage the power of social media in order to amplify the marketing reach by encouraging users to share their own memories and stories by using campaign specific hashtags.

Sip for Change products will be available for wholesale where cafes and tea houses can proudly support Sip for Change efforts helping increase awareness and product distribution.
